The 6000 square metres of land is, almost an island, surrounded on two sides by a creek with paddy fields beyond, more paddy fields to the west and a coconut grove to the north. THe land was wild and barren save for a dozen mature (50 years plus) coconut trees and an old well by the remaining plinth of a house long gone. The first two seasons were spent developing the eco hotel designing and erecting luxurious Rajasthani hunting tents, sourcing panels to provide solar power for the lighting in each tent and the pathways, experimenting and perfecting the eco-waste management system for the natureal composting toilets.
